HAVE A LOOK AT THE FOLLOWING TUTOURIAL FOR TIPS & METHOD TO INSTALL YOUR OWN SYSTEM!

The diagram shown above is the ATEK 2000 Alarm System, and how it is installed into a 1996-97 HONDA ACCORD. To start with, remove the under steering column, plastic panel, and drivers side plastic kick panel (this covers the wire packs coming from the drivers side door and others). Next remove the metal knee plate, using a ratchet and a 10mm head to remove the bolts holding the plate in place.
Ok, now you have the area under the steering column exposed, and we need to identify the proper wires to interface the system to the car. Coming off of the ignition/key switch, you will see a wire pack, encased in black plastic and wire tied with 2 others. In the one off of the key, you will find the heavy guage wires needed to do your work. Carefully cut away approximately 4 inches of the black plastic covering the wires and identify the following:

Constant Power : WHITE IGNITION SWITCH HARNESS
Ignition Power : BLACK/YELLOW IGNITION SWITCH HARNESS
Starter Kill : BLACK/WHITE IGNITION SWITCH HARNESS

Now, using a razor knife, cut away approximately 1/4 inch of the covering on the constant source and the ignition power wires. Good, now using a soldering iron, attatch the RED and YELLOW wires from the wiring harness of the ATEK 2000. Once completed, seal the connections using black electrical tape. DONE. Now we move onto starter kill. Cut the BLACK/WHITE in half. Using a prewired socket that we provide (see diagram at: RELAYS.4ALL.CC ) and use the ORANGE wire from the ATEK 2000 for the output on the relay. Follow the directions for starter disable on the relays page, and you'll be done with this phase of the installation.

Let's ground the system's BLACK (ground) wire now.
THIS MUST BE DONE BEFORE YOU ATTATCH
THE BRAIN BOX OF THE ALARM SYSTEM!!!
Find a solid chassis ground and use a 1/2 self tapping screw to do the job. Ok, so what's next? I prefer to do the parking lights next. So look at the diagram above and follow carefully the connection points for the Parking lights, Door/dome light trigger, Trunk Light Trigger (BLUE wire from the alarm)

Parking Lamp : RED/BLACK AT FUSEBOX "BLUE PLUG"
Dome Light/Door Trigger : BLK/WHITE (-) RIGHT OF COLUMN "GRAY PLUG"
Trunk Trigger : ORANGE/W-SILVER DOTS (-) RIGHT OF COLUMN "GRAY PLUG"

Great We are almost done. Now find a good spot for the LED (the little status lite) We have chose the "blank" panel buttons to inset our LED in this instance. Remove the "blank" and drill a 1/4 inch hole into the middle of it. Now insert the LED firmly in place, and snake the wires & small plug (tape them for neatness),down through the dash, to the alarm brain and plug it in.
Now let's move on to the door locks. Since the ATEK 2000 has NEGATIVE door lock outputs built in, you can attatch these wire directly WITHOUT using external relays. Look for the

Power Lock : BLACK/WHITE (-)NEGATIVE
Power Unlock : ORANGE (-)NEGATIVE IN THE GRAY PLUG ABOVE
THE FUSEBOX -BLUE TAPED TO A WIRING HARNESS.

Solder the negative outputs from the alarm to these wires and tape off the connections. Ok only a few more things. You need to run the siren wire (BROWN) through the fire wall, either using an existing rubber grommet, or drilling a tiny hole through the thin part of the sheet metal, being carfull not to pierce, or puncture any thing important! When through, find a spot to mount the siren, bell facing down to prevent the "bucket effect" and mount firmly to the chassis of the car. Then attatch the brown siren output wire from the alarm, to the red wire on the siren itself, and ground the black wire on the siren to the chassis. Please go over all of this with an eagle eye to black tape everything that reveals your work.
NEATNESS COUNTS!

The only thing left then is the VALET button. I like to mount it using a 1/4 inch hole into the drivers side kick panel, up high so only you know where it is, and then re attatch the panel to the car. Finish it off by snaking the wires from the VALET and attatch it to your alarm. (If installing the included 2 stage shock sensor, firmly attatch it using wire ties, to a stiff harness close to the center pod of the car for the best , all around effectiveness.

That's it. You've completed the installation for this system into your HONDA ACCORD! Very good. Now make it better by going over your work, tape off all the wiring and make certain that you did everything "by the numbers." Plug it in and you are all set! Read the features manual for any changes in how the alarm performs, and follow the directions. YOUR VEHICLE IS NOW PROTECTED!
